Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Perempuan Nelayan Chairwoman, Asmania, said the kale cultivation is done by a conventional method.
"Today's harvesting result will be distributed to resident for free," she said, Monday (1/15).
Asmania explained, not only kale, there is also spinach, mustard, pokcoy, eggplant, and watermelon.
"We usually sell the harvesting result for buying seed and fertilizer," she added.
According to her, there are 20 members of KWT Perempuan Nelayan. Those are wives of the fishermen.
"Doing urban farming can give us extra income," she continued.
The urban farming program in Pari Island gets local resident appreciation. Resident of RT 03/04, Pari Island Urban Village, Melky Krijaya (40), admitted happy doing the urban farming. It can fulfill his family needs of vegetables.
"I am glad that today's harvesting result is given for free. I usually buy vegetables from them," he stated.
